The ape cover reminds me of WWI propaganda posters.

I think one of the best cover designers in recent years is Tree Swenson. Unfortunately for the book arts, she has stopped designing in order to concentrate fully on the Academy of American Poets.

This is going to be really interesting, especially the Cease and Desist list (to which I would add Milton Avery's painting of two women on a sofa (can't think of the title). I like the painting but it has been on several book covers and in Woody Allen's Crimes and Misdemeanors. Enough already.
