This is a wonderful description of the chapbook! And thank you for the list of favorite chapbooks!

Thanks for including my book. I'm coming back to read more. Some really interesting posts here.

"I also like to think of them as a rocking E.P., something your favorite band might put out between full length records just so you can hear what they're up to." -- I looooooooooooooooooooooooove that you said that.

I am a fan of chapbooks, too. I find myself rereading the same ones over and over again because, like a favorite E.P., you can listen to the songs over and over again. I never get tired of them.

Oh, your list of chapbooks is making me want to go huntin' for more chapbooks...

My favorite one is "Against Disappearance" by Marilyn Johnston published by Redgreene Press...

I have to check this one out from the title alone -- The Night Tito Trinidad KO'ed Ricardo Mayorga (Chapbooks, too, seem to always have the best titles)

Thanks for posting this. Chapbooks so often get treated liked the red-haired stepchildren of the poetry world. I've never been able to figure out why.

GOOD TOPIC! Thanks for the photos of chapbooks, too!

I, too, love chapbooks! I don't have as many I as I would like! One of my favorites is "Americana" by Ken McManus (the roguescholars poetry group press)

Michael and Pris - you're very welcome.

Laura - I know exactly what you mean. I think the tide is turning, though. There's just too much good work out there, in chapbook form, to be snubbed. Plus, chaps are so affordable!

Melissa and Michelle - Thanks for your own chap suggs. I will check them out.

Emma:

A very late response, sorry. Thank you so much for including Fighting Kite. I'm honored to be in such great company. I also posted a public thank-you on my blog at http://vincegotera.blogspot.com ... muchisimas gracias.
