Thanks for this response and the poems in it. I am especially enamored of the Lucy Maud Montgomery one, if only to see some light at the end of the tunnel

I'm glad you got your power back! That is definitely the worst part. We haven't lost ours (knock wood), but I did have to holler at my husband to get the hell down off the barn roof, from whence he was shoveling snow.

I love Poetry Comics, too!

Stay warm and safe, Terence. And have a hot toddy or two - you've earned it!

Great post TW. Our silver lining has been this gift of unexpected time at home. Staring at our bookshelves, which get little attention these days, I've pulled and read some Ferlingetti (sp?) poems, a book on Joseph Beuys' time in Ireland and Scotland and a good dose of Far Side cartoons. So your post made me laugh as it all seems to tie in together.

The Jesse W song lyrics are killer - I've never heard it but will search it out...

Hang in there friend.

Thanks, Jen.  I'm glad the heat came back on before you had to rescue us off the side of the road on Georgia Avenue..

Yes, but the man who wrote "Snowbound" was Whittier.
